Firefox 44 Cannot install ANY ADDONS error=downloading and verifying then freezes
Initially asked about specific add ons, now I find I cannot download ANY addon, seems to work when in safe mode, when back in regular mode, whatever was downloaded, is gone. Using windows 7 as always and latest version of FF 44.0.2. I click on download right from FF own add on catalog, it looks like working, then just sits there green 'verifying' verifying..ononon but nothing. Have tried various things from other forums including deleting json squilite files etc, tried safe mode, but again, not working when I am in regular mode not safe mode, nothing is there. It started when I was looking to download facebook purity, which supposedly is offered on firefox own catalog, but firefox addons shows its disabled at their choice with no way for me to enable it, but tried many other addons and they will not download, stuck freezing, and now I cannot change or add anything. Don't want to throw out all of my stuff but don't want to not be able to download any addons. Please assist. I really have tried to find answer on my own, and reviewed articles in this website and forums too. Oh yeah, tried to automatically add the troubleshotting information, that green verifying popped up and stuck, so I guess I cannot give that information. It didn't ask if allowed, it went right to VERIFYING...

Determined that extension called Pretty Install was the culprit, it was removed, now can install.

See if it helps. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/unable-install-add-ons-extensions-or-themes
No, I had already read through that. I had already tried most, in fact, I have another windows 7 computer, and just tried same on it, same issue, verifying and won't install just sits frozen... so its beginning to seem a firefox issue, not my computer(s) I am wishing Mozilla would offer some expertise on this as I believe it is definitely sitewide for Mozilla, since I tried experimenting with various random addons... nothing works.
Three other threads about this issue are here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1110766 https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1110778 https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1108912
Starting a new thread about essentially the same issue doesn't get to a solution for your problem. I offered one suggestion that did solve your problem.
What security applications are on the affected computers? The same, which might be causing the same issue? Or different 'brand' applications?
edited to fix a mistaken impression resulting from reviewing past threads where a MacOSX computer was used when starting 2 of the 4 questions threads and the content included mention of a Macbook Pro in those two threads

I previously had issue with one extension/add on, and to an extent was solved, now I find a different situation, that is when you cannot install ANY add ons, seems to be a whole other issue. Was looking for help, apparently I was wrong to come back and ask again.....gee what else was I supposed to do after reading all threads and trying those solutions???? am I missing something????
