I'm a developer and I'm trying to refresh and validate some changes I do on my sites, and I'm quite annoyed, since in Firefox embedded videos (with the <video> tag) and favicons are not refreshing at all. I need to switch and check the changes in Chrome.
I've tried everything I've found in the support site and from other help sites:

- Ctrl + F5 or Ctrl + Shift + R

- Shift + click on refresh button

- Developer Toolbox - options - advanced settings - Disable Cache (when toolbox is open)

- Modify about:config: browser.cache.memory.enable;false and browser.cache.disk.enable;false

- Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

- Web Developer Addon: Disable cache from several options.

All the other content (html, js css, etc) of the pages are getting refreshed with the above methods, but the videos and the favicons are not. I'm using latest version 46.0.1 Am I missing something? Thanks in advance

Hold down the <Shilt> key and reload the page will bypass the cache.

Hello Gusstavv try the browser.cache.check_doc_frequency to 1 (always in about:config).

thank you

Does the Network Monitor indicate that these elements are retrieved from the cache?

A reload and bypass the cache should make Firefox retrieve all data fresh from the server. I'm not sure what happens with content loaded in iframes if that is used in your case. You can try to use the right-click context menu to reload the frame.

Nope. Already said in my post I did that.

Oh yeah, I had it switched on already from previous attempts, and still it doesn't work.

I checked the Network Monitor and found that the favicon and the embedded videos are not getting fetched from the server. Everything is brought back from the server everytime, but those two elements are still being cached. And nope, there is no iframes used
