Updated to 45.1.1 on Windows 10. Received an email at 7.45- AllOk. Applied update at 8am. No send or receive since. Can log on to webmail and can see emails received since 8am. Am not getting the prompt to enter the password. Progress bar appears- shows movement but then times out and disappears with error message saying unable to connect to pop or smtp server. HELP!!

If immediately after an update you cannot send nor receive any emails then it it highly likely that your Anti-virus/Firewall product is blocking Thunderbird.

Somehow, the AV/Firewall product has not realised that the Thunderbird update is the same program.

Close Thunderbird. Access your Anti-virus/Firewall product and make sure Thunderbird is selected to be allowed. I use Norton and on one occassion I had to block Thunderbird, ok it, access Norton again, allow it and click on ok's. Restart Thunderbird.
