When I try to download greasemonkey for my firefox 48 on android 6, it says downloading addon, but never installs it. I have tried few other addons such as adblock plus and ghostery and they install fine, but greasemonkey doesnt do anything. Is there something I can do to force firefox to install it after it has been downloaded?

Url I used: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/android/addon/greasemonkey/

Your link directs to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/greasemonkey/

Greasemonkey is a Extension for desktop Firefox and not Android Firefox.

The Extensions made for Android Firefox will have "Works with Firefox for Android version#" under Version Information.

Some extension authors do support multiple products and OS like for example Stylish Works with Firefox for Android, Firefox, SeaMonkey, Thunderbird. https://addons.mozilla.org/android/addon/stylish/

Ok, thanks.

I was confused a bit.

When you switch your user agent to Mozilla/5.0 (Android 6.0.1; Mobile; rv:48.0) Gecko/48.0Firefox/48.0 then it no longer redirects you but goes where this link tells it to go.

Other thing that confuses me is that Ghostery for example does not have "Works with Firefox for Android version#" under Version Information. but it still works.
