When we receive text messages from a cell phone to our Thunderbird email client, the email subject box is blank. We are able to view the text message from our gmail account that is linked to Thunderbird but never in Thunderbird itself. How can we correct this?

An SMS has no subject, only a body. Does the text show up when you click on the blank subject?

Hi Matt,

Thanks for replying! Ok I think I used some incorrect phrasing, so sorry! When I said subject box, I meant the body of the email. So when an sms message is sent to our email, the text does not appear, in the body of the email or anywhere else though the text does come through in the body of the email in our gmail account that is linked to Thunderbird.

I hope that cleared things up!

I am assuming you have access to the same messages both on gmail and in Thunderbird

On the gmail web site open a message click the down arrow beside the reply button and chose view original download the oringinal.

In Thunderbird open the same message press Ctrl+U Now you have two originals. Is there difference, other than in the headers?

You can forward them to me at unicorn dot consulting at gmail dot com and I will have a look if you like.

Note Save the Thunderbird source as a text file before trying to attach it and forward.
