Hey guys.

I use Portable Firefox Developer Edition 52.0a2 (2016-12-16) (64-bit) with PrivateBrowsingByPortableApps from USB Drive. I get that message on websites with flash player. I have installed flash player, restarted the browser and still get the message. On my Add-ons - Extensions I see a message: "Flashblock (disabled). Flashblock could not be verified for use in Firefox Developer Edition and has been disabled"

Any help is much appreciated.

There are several types of flash.

Flash Player Note: Windows users should download the active_x for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).

Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the active_x.

Flash Player Version: 24.0.0.186

I have visited there:

easy to use Flash installer for Firefox Portable Not being developed. It hasn't been updated since 2008. The project has simply been abandoned.''

Flash is available as an extension. Just click the link." -is corrupt.

"Shockwave Plugin" installed, nothing happens.

I have tried the geeky method too, FirefoxPortable\Data\plugins directory is empty.

I am really out of options here.

Sorry you are having this problem with getting Adobe Flash to work with the Firefox Portable Edition.

Firefox Portable is a 3rd party build from PortableApps.com - not an official Release from Mozilla. Thus "Portable" is not really supported in this forum which is for the official builds from Mozilla. http://portableapps.com/forums/support/firefox_portable is for Firefox Portable support.

Adobe Flash installs to the operating system - not to the browser. On Windows OS's Flash has Registry entries that let Firefox know where to find the applicable Flash DLL and XPT files that Firefox needs to be able to run Flash presentations. Problem is that Portable Edition doesn't use the Windows Registry at all; it doesn't "write to" or "read from" the Registry. The user has to provide and place the necessary files to have Flash work in Firefox Portable.

There are a number of support contributors here who use (or have used at some point in the last 13 years) Firefox Portable or are familiar with the differences from the official; Fred is not, but I believe James familiar with the differences - he linked to the Portable Plugins article over at PortableApps.com.

http://portableapps.com/support/firefox_portable#plugins No date as to when that page was created, but based upon the "Version History" at the bottom of that page - my guess is that page hasn't been maintained properly or given much thought since mid-2007. Yes, the Flash Installer for Firefox Portable appears to be defunct, probably for 8 years now. That information shouldn't even be there, IMO. And the extension version for Flash hasn't been updated in over 7 years. I downloaded that extension and viewed the internal files just now, and found internal file dates - with the newest files being from early 2009. Plus, the Firefox extension 'system' had been changed 3 or 4 times in the last 7 years; extensions created in 2009 won't install in a 2016 version of Firefox - period. And that would be a real old version of Flash that most websites wouldn't allow today.

The "geeky method" is the only way to get Flash to work in Firefox Portable for many years now. And, of course FirefoxPortable\Data\plugins is empty; that is the folder where the Flash files need to be placed, in order that Firefox Portable can use those files.

That's about as far as I can help you. I don't use "Portable" any longer and I have a 32-bit Windows 7 installation, I am not familiar with the nuances in the Windows 64-bit Operating System's. My advice is to post in the PortableApps / Firefox support fora for up-to-date information about Flash in Firefox Portable Edition. http://portableapps.com/forums/support/firefox_portable
