I keep getting a warning from my Kaspersky security suite telling me that I shouldn't use Firefox because of a lapsed licence. When I give permission to continue it warns me that my security will be compromised.

That's a new one! Could you post a screenshot of the warning? This article has tips on how to capture screenshots: How do I create a screenshot of my problem?
