Floating over the menu reveals a hidden 'Firefox Screenshots' but it's not enabled and I would like to have this feature so how do I enable it?

No, I'll wait thanks but it's a bit frustrating that I could see 'screenshots' show up on my screen but it's disabled and I seemingly cannot enable it in 55.0.3.

Where and how exactly do you see this  ? Would it be possible for you to provide a screenshot  ?

BTW, pardon my ignorance, but what does "for Nightly" mean?

You are absolutely not ignorant  !

Hi   !

Would you please try this :

Type in the address bar about:config (press Enter) (promise to be careful, if asked) Type and look for the preference : extensions.screenshots.system-disabled and set its value to false

See : http://winaero.com/blog/enable-screenshots-button-firefox/

and also : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-screenshots

The value for both extensions.screenshots.system-disabled and extensions.screenshots.disabled was already false.

Did you make sure that you're not in permanent private browsing  ?

3-bar menu (or 'Tools') => Advanced => Privacy => under 'History' choose 'Use custom settings for history' and make sure that 'Always use private browser mode' is unchecked.

Firefox Screenshots is fairly new and still being tested, but it is currently available as a beta version for Nightly ....... Would that be an option for you (for now)  ?

You won't believe this! After I had to restart the laptop for something else, I then found in Firefox that that gap between the 'save to pocket' and 'open menu' icons was no longer there. Previously there definitely was a gap because when I floated the mouse over it, that hidden and disabled 'Firefox Screenshots' icon was revealed. So I now thought I was going crazy but I retraced all the previous steps you'd suggested and when I looked at extensions.screenshots.system-disabled I found it was now set to 'true'! So I double clicked it to change it to 'false' again and, voila, the 'Firefox Screenshots' icon showed up enabled and it works! Thanks a lot for your help.

Wow   ! and : Yay  !!!

Somehow that preference in 'about:config' got changed - which is weird. Good for you to set it to 'false' and now everything is as it should have been all along.

Well done  !
