We are trying to deploy Firefox 60 ESR using a json polices file. The problem is that when it tries to update from 60.0.1 to 60.0.2 we get a prompt for admin rights.

Firefox is trying to install a new helper tool.

What is the best way to deploy 60ESR in a enterprise environemnt (we have Jamf) to auto update with out the end user needing administrative rights, or any pop up's as well. I was under the impression that functionality was out of the box. If i need to add to my json fiel that is fine, i just cant find a policy that would do this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

-Peter

Your best option is to install in a user accessible directory like ~/Applications.
