When I detach the attachment from a message the whole message disappears from the inbox list. I cannot access it for a subsequent response. The release notes tell that this problem occurred in version 52.9.0 and was fixed in 52.9.1. but it is only in this new version that I noticed it.

I suggest you file a bug. Or comment on the bug report where the initial problem was fixed. Or both.

It sounds like you already have links to the bug, so I will not go looking for them.

I don't understand this answer. I opened the link for filing a bug but I did not find where to place a comment

This is the bug in question. You will have to create a Bugzilla account to add comments, but I suggest you first try to establish there is in fact a problem with TB 52.9.1 by performing the standard diagnostic, i.e. running in Windows safe mode, TB safe mode, TB on a new profile etc.
