All my bookmark folders are gray. How can I change the color to make it easier to find a specific folder?

more options

Yes. Inside each folder there is a plethora of colors. Since the print identifying the folder is small, colors would help me to see the appropriate folder containing my bookmarks without glasses. I am old, so please try to keep it simple and not too teckie. Thank You

Hi gswft, it's not easy to color individual bookmark folders. You will definitely need to put on your nerd hat to do that.

But regarding small print, is all the text in the toolbar area smaller than you'd like? There is a setting to "zoom" all the text and images in Firefox which you could consider trying. Here's the info:

Firefox normally follows your Windows "Text Size" setting. On laptops, that's often 125%. On desktop systems, it may be 100%. But Firefox also lets you override this and specify your own scaling factor.

This will scale up both the text and the icons in the toolbar area, and in web pages. Here's how to give it a try:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste devp and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the layout.css.devPixelsPerPx preference and enter 1.5 and click OK. This is equivalent to setting the "Text Size" in Windows to 150%.

What do you think, is this the same, better, too large? You can experiment with this setting, but I suggest not making it smaller than 1 and not making it larger than 3.

If things get out of control, you can right-click the setting and choose Reset, which is the bottom item on the right-click context menu.

Can you find a size that works well overall?

Note that you need to double check the new value of layout.css.devPixelsPerPx before clicking OK. A too small value with shrink the entire Firefox window and you won't see anything. A too large value does the opposite an will blow the entire Firefox window. The pref does accept 0.1 and 0.05 steps.

I thank you for your help. I don't want to make things bigger, although I can understand why you would think that. Bigger is not always better. I want to color code the folders that contain different bookmarks. I wish to make each folder a different color. Thank you
