recent update caused tabs to revert to top

more options

just installed the latest current Firefox update which has reverted my tabs to the top rather than below my bookmarks toolbar.

suffice to say this is rather annoying as changing the "browser.tabs.onTop" setting in the about:config which l originally did doesnt work any more l did find a userchrome.css file as well that said it would do it on this site but alas my tabs are still above the address bar and not below the bookmarks toolbar where l want them. any help to resolve this would be greatly appreciated due to the most recent update causing them to revert back to the top.

A slight change was made to the CSS syntax for "tabs" in Firefox 65. You need to edit the userChrome.css file to compensate for the difference, or just swap out the old code for an updated version. (Probably easier to swap in the updated code as there are a variety of different codes used in the past floating around out there.)

l eventually found that, tho l do have other additions to my userchrome, however as is usually the case the moment l ask after spending hours trawling for solutions, one seems to jump in front of me the moment l make a post lol.

still it bothers me that there isnt a option within firefox itself just to change tab locations, many people still like them below the navigation, why not give users the choice :/

That "option" has been gone from Firefox itself for many years now!

Mozilla didn't want to maintain two sets of code as they did with Firefox 4.0 thru Fx28, due to the perceived "cost". The option disappeared with Firefox 29 Australis. And the extensions that "restored that option" disappeared with Firefox 57 Quantum in Nov 2017.
