Suddenly, my Facebook "News Feeds" page is empty. It gives a message "To see more content, add friends"

more options

Last night at just before midnight, I went to log into Facebook and my News Feeds page was completely blank, except fo a Facebook message stating "To see more content, add friends"! If I go to my Home Page, everything is fine! I have 173 friends and they are all still active. I log into the Facebook App for Android on my phone and News Feeds is fine so I don't believe it's Facebook. Is there anything you folks can think of that could have happened with the Mozilla Browser settings that would have lost some of my "default settings" to bring up that particular page?

I've seen that occasionally after a couple dozen stories. Kind of insulting, right?

The selection of "Top Stories" for the news feed is a bit of a mystery to me, especially when it can different between your devices. If you want to see everything in reverse chronological order, you can switch your news feed to Most Recent using the little ••• button pictured in this screenshot:

Maybe someone else knows some settings that could affect the Top Stories list. Some blocked servers maybe?

You could test in Firefox's Safe Mode. In its Safe Mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.

If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox. (On Mac, hold down the option/alt key instead of the Shift key.)

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • (menu bar) Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart.

Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Any improvement?
