Thank you, but I have gone through these, all before:

  • No Proxy is Off
  • There is no warning other than server cannot be reached
  • I do not have Avast, Kaspersky, BitDefender and ESET
  • I do have Sophos and it is turned off for testing this.
  • Proxy to None
  • network.dns.disableIPv6 is TRUE
  • network.dns.disablePrefetch is TRUE
  • network.dns.disablePrefetchFromHTTPS is TRUE

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or userChrome.css is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Troubleshoot Mode start window

Tried all and it does not work in Firefox. Works in Safari, Chrome etc. I am on a Mac - so no safe mode. Cleared cache - did nothing.
