Why is LibreOffice not listed Helper Applications

I am using Thunderbird 91.4.1 on Linux and KDE5 desktop. I received an email with an .ods (Open Document Spreadsheet) attachment. When I try to open it, it defaults to 'Calligra Sheets', but I use LibreOffice on this computer. Therefore, I select Other > View All Applications. I get dozens of app in the list, some of which are repeated multiple time: e.g. Konqueror, listed 4 time; Krita, listed 16 time. However, LibreOffice is not listed at all, even though it is installed and is the Thunderbird default when opening .xls or .xlsx attachments.

Is this a Thunderbird issue or Linux/KDE issue? If Thunderbird, is there a fix? Should I report it as a bug?

In the example image below, for pdf it is easy to choose the application as it is listed - Adobe, but if it was not in the list, I would click on the 'Browse' button and locate the exe file.

I use OpenOffice, for Microsoft Word (Open XML) documents, I had to use 'Browse' to locate the OpenOffice 'swriter.exe' file

I later tried to open a .doc file with Firefox; same thing. When I did search for LibreOffice, I couldn't find it! As it turns out, the recent installation of the latest LibreOffice package failed, so it wasn't on the system. When I successfully installed it both Firefox and Thunderbird defaulted back to LibreOffice!!!
