Each time I start the Firefox browser the window pops up asking for the master password.

Is there a way to change this so that the master password is only asked for when you go to logon to a website?

I often look at websites without logging in.

Any help or a solution would be appreciated.

Are you using Sync as this is a possible reason to ask for the Primary Password ?

Using Sync is a possible reason to ask for the Primary Password at startup. This is because the credentials to login to the Sync account are stored in the Password Manager and you need to enter the Primary Password to unlock the passwords and connect/login to the Sync account.

Thank you Dropa and cor-el.

Cor-el's answer allowed me to understand why I'm being asked to enter the primary password. I guess I'll just need to put up with this annoyance.

Cheers
