TB version 102 - won't get email correctly
Ever since I upgraded to version 102, I cannot get email from my primary account by selecting that account. I have to use "get all messages," which at first downloaded messages on all my accounts. I am now on version 102.4.2 with today's update and that still not fixed. Now in order to get email on my primary account, I have to use "get all messages" and then individually select the other accounts to get messages on those account. The "Get Messages" button does nothing. That used to download messages on my primary email account. I still cannot do a "Send Later" message. I used to do that to save messages to make sure I had everything correct. Now, I have to Send Now always. When I do Send Later, the screen flashes, but the message does not get saved into my draft folder and is not sent either. I have used TB for more years that I can remember and have never had problems like this before. Barbara

Hello ther barbara. We have read your message. We try to help you.
You will normally get a message in a window when these symptoms appear.
First we try to stop the flickering screen when Thunderbird is going on. Try to start up in safe modus for thunderbird. The flickering has to stop. This function contains more then that.
Try to follow these steps in the instruction form.

After that contact us after trying these Thunderbird solving steps.

Tried trouble-shooting/safe mode. All the problems I have are still there in that mode.
I will have to investigate how to re-install without losing anything. Barbara

Pointless I would say.
What addons do you have installed? Specifically disabled
I am thinking you have previously used an addon and simply don't recognize Thunderbird without it.
Why you ask. 1. Thunderbird has no general button to send later. There is an entry of the file menu of the compose window, and there is a shortcut Ctrl_Shift+Enter Those have been fairly static as long as I have used Thunderbird. There was however an addon that make a send later button available on the toolbar.
2. Get messages (F5). This has only ever retrieved the messages for the mail account selected in the folder pane. The drop down get all messages (shift + F5) has always retrieved mail for all accounts in account settings that you have expectations of something else happening also leads me to think an addon.
Matt, To clarify: I have only 2 add-ons - "Correct Identity" and "Manually sort folders". When I tried running in trouble-shooting mode, I did check to verify they were disabled. 1. I used to use the File, Send Later option - not a special button. 2. Get Messages button used to get the email from my main account in versions prior to version 102. Also, clickin on the dropdown arrow next to the button and selecting my main email account, also used to get message for that account. Neither of those actions get any email since I upgraded to version 102. "Get all messages" no longer gets all messages. It did get them all when I first upgraded to version 102, then it lost that ability with one of the patches. Now it only gets messages for my main account.

Hello there Barbara.
the first answers and question to us was to seem that these symptoms could be causing this.
But the following topics will also not be excluded that it could be these.
for example, that security tools block these functions but find no solution in being for lost buttons in the game.
try disabling the security tools and take a closer look or refresh these important security tools.
if necessary, uninstall them and replace them properly.
There are several other options to solve this problem, but let's take a look at these steps before we tackle them.
Greetings Firefox volunteer.
I uninstalled TB and reinstalled TB. The first time I did that, it found my old profile and problems were the same and still there. I realized that I had forgotten to turn off my virus program, so uninstalled TB, closed my virus program, disconnected from the internet and reinstalled. That next install gave me a new profile so I closed TB and copied all the files from my old profile to the new one. Now, TB is working the same as before - still can't get mail by clicking the "Get Messages" button or do a File/Send Later. And, now have a new problem - the count of emails next to each folder is cut off. In a folder with 17 emails, I can only see the 1. in a folder with 6 emails, I can't see a number at all. That situation exists wither in trouble-shooting mode or regular mode. I tried scrolling to make the columns larger or smaller, turn off / on the options to show totals etc. So, bottom line - it's wackier than it was after all that work.

Hello there Barbara.
okay your uninstalling this software from Thunderbird was not really recommended before in this story.
Solutions are here for the taking
Let's suggest one that when updating the versions you say you have installed. It could use erroneous pages after update that manage obsolete instructions that are still in your Thunderbird cache as well as those of your cache OS on your PC. Whatever such may amount to a similar problem formation as the proposed add-on situation .
I assume you are still using these add-ons at the moment?
