I am attempting to "Manually uninstall a plugin", per the instructions on the "Troubleshooting plugins" page. The plugin in question is displayed in the plugins list obtained by clicking 'Tools - Add-ons - Plugins'. However, it is NOT displayed in the about:plugins page, so I can't execute the rest of the steps given. How do I uninstall a plugin under these circumstances?

Disabled plugins are shown NOT in about:plugins. If you look at Tools > Add-ons > Plugins and the particular plugin shows an "Enable" button, then it is disabled. You will need to enable the plugin and restart Firefox to get the path information if that is what you are seeking. See the following quote from: http://kb.mozillazine.org/About:plugins

Note: Starting in Firefox 3 and SeaMonkey 2, disabling a plugin via "Tools -> Add-ons (or Add-on Manager) -> Plugins" will remove it from the about:plugins list; re-enabling a disabled plugin will add it back to the list.

Thanks TXGuy,

With a little guesswork, I found and uninstalled the plugin. (There aren't that many places a plugin would be installed.) I think you were probably right though. The plugin was disabled, so that's why I didn't find it. I'll remember this for next time.
