Nothing but problems since I downloaded 3.6.8 FF - constant error messages that won't close etc.

Based on another poster's problem, I went to FF Tools/Add-Ons to try to get rid of my non-functioning Google toolbar. I get the following error: Script: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsExtensionManager.js:623

When I try to stop the script, it just keeps popping back up. I can't even close the error window. Just keeps reopening.

When OPEN FF, I get Type error: this.instalDIR is null

Since installing FF 3.6.8, Google Toolbar buttons do not work, I can't uninstall - it just brings up the Google Toolbar Options window.

This is getting very frustrating. FF has always worked well - until this version!

This can be caused by the Ask Toolbar, try disabling it. Open the add-ons manager (select Tools > Add-ons), go to the Extensions panel, select the Ask Toolbar, click Disable then restart Firefox.

If that does not help, you will need to troubleshoot other add-ons to find which one is causing it, for details of how to do that see Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems

If you have Personas Plus 1.6, this has caused problems with the Google toolbar, if you have it try uninstalling it. Reports in the Personas forum indicate that uninstalling Personas Plus and re-installing it can solve the compatibility problem.
