Youtube videos won't load on Firefox (I get a black screen) but will load on IE. Other Flash-based websites work normally.
I've been using Youtube on Firefox normally for years, but now the videos are only a black screen where the video should be, with nothing else (no play button or anything). They load normally on IE. I tried thinking of something I could have done to provoke this, and the only things I did recently was update Flash and Java (in that order). YT still worked after the Flash update. I tried reinstalling Java but it didn't work. I didn't reinstall Flash because it works fine on other websites so I don't think this is the problem. I also tried disabling hardware acceleration on Flash but it doesn't solve it. Interestingly, the Youtube test video in this page does work. I also tried whitelisting Youtube on Adblock and disabling Greasemonkey, to no avail. I have run out of good ideas to try. Thanks to whoever can help!
edit: Hmm, I changed http:// for https:// in the address bar and the video will load. However I don't want to type this every time.
edit2: They suddenly are working again without me having done anything. Guess it was Youtube's issue.

Try clearing the Cache in Firefox.
Tools-> Clear Recent History -> [v] Cache
or Tools->Options->Advanced->Network -> Offline storage -> [Clear Now]
Youtube may have made some changes recently. Clear the Youtube cookie and refresh page if above does not do it.

Youtube works OK for me on Chrome, Opera, Flock and IE8 but not Firefox. I have tried reloading / updating Flash etc but to no avail. Usually it will start to play a video and then within a fraction of a second the control bar will disappear and the black screen covers everything and sound and vision are terminated. The hpps dodge does not work either.
