Firefox crashing and randomly closing itself..

more options

Since last night, I've noticed that Firefox has randomly started closing at random points - it's not particular with any one website or anything, it just keeps either crashing or just randomly closing itself - and not allowing me to open up another browser until I end the process using Task Manager. I was using an older version of the browser up until about an half an hour or so ago - I updated, hoping that it would fix the problem but have had no luck. I also tried running safe mode but the crashes occurred then too.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
