Firefox can play videos in safe mode but not in normal mode. I have disabled all the plugins, reset the browser but problem still continues.

Everything works fine about the videos when I use in safe mode but when I switch to normal mode, in most of the websites (e.g. Vimeo) the videos cannot be played. I have reset the browser so currently I have no add-ons, I downgraded the Adobe Flash Player to 10.3 still problem is not solved.

Since flash player works fine in safe mode but node in normal mode, I doubt this problem is related to Firefox not Adobe Flash Player.

Thank you ideato. Disabling hardware acceleration solves my problem. Now everything works fine. But is it going to decrease the performance of firefox since I will not use hardware acceleration?

more options

Hardware acceleration is using GPU when it’s possible to help page-drawing operations faster, but the increase of performance is negligible (if working well).

EDIT : same in flash player http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hardware_acceleration
