When trying to open Firefox browser, I get a message Firefox is already running... You can stop the process or restart the computer. This is a recent problem and I can't think of any changes that may have occurred to change the functioning of the two programs.

The support article on Firefox "hanging" has a few pointer on Firefox failing to fully shut down and clean up after itself. Does anything here help:

Thank you for your help. I ended up uninstalling Java and installing the newest version. I then had a problem with Adobe Flash player always asking for permission for more download space..... Things seem to be resolved, for now.
