Last night I lost the ability to pin pages on the Firefox tab. I lost all my most used pinned pages. I cannot figure out how to get this function back. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox but this didn't help. Now what?

A plain reinstall of Firefox often does not fix problems.

Presumably you are unable to right click a tab and use the option to pin it to the bookmarks toolbar, have you tried that ? Also I assume you are able to see your tabs it is just the pinned tabs that you have lost.

You may need to use the Reset feature, but read the article and the warning about what you loose before you try that

An alternative which maybe you should try first is to rename the file localstore.rdf that will reset your toolbar customisations, and may solve the problem

App (pinned) tabs and Tab Groups (Panorama) are stored as part of the session data in the sessionstore.js file in the Firefox profile folder.

Make sure that you do not use "Clear Recent History" to clear the "Browsing History" when Firefox is closed because that prevails and prevents Firefox from opening tabs from the previous session.

You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox Profile Folder that store session data.

Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).
