Just like this user I was syncing only one device. After reinstalling windows, I can't reconnect and I don't have the recovery key...

What can I do? To access my bookmarks, favorites, etc?

Thanks!

hello Thetraveller, if you don't have another device that's currently connected to your sync account, it won't be possible to retrieve the data from the sync servers without the recovery key unfortunately.

You need three things to connect to your Sync account as a "new device".

  1. Username = email address you used when you first setup Sync
  2. Password for that account.
  3. Sync Key / Recovery Key

If you are missing any of those three things, you won't be able to recover your data from the Sync Server.

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately I'm missing the recovery key and don't synch with other devices so I guess that means I'm out of luck...

Maybe this is something that can be added to the roadmap for future improvements. I don't see a reason why you can't get your information back after a reset if you've only got one device.

You posted with a Mac computer.

Do you have any data on that computer that might be useful?
