I am currently on Firefox 29 Beta, with the browser updated to the latest RC version last week. But as of 29th April 2014, the release version of Firefox 29 has been introduced. I wanted to know if my browser will update to the release version using the automatic updater or if I need to update manually from beta version to release version.

No, Beta versions stay on the Beta Channel. When a Beta version updates, it is to the next Beta version which is usually available within a week of the new version being released.

To get to the Release version you need to download and install it.

hello joynul007, when you're on firefox 29 beta currently you will be updated to firefox 30 beta in a few days. in case you'd like to switch back to the regular release versions, just download firefox 29 for your system & language from https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all.html and install it on top of your current beta version (this will keep all your bookmarks, passwords and settings).
