why does the new tab google search bar search in spanish when all defaults are in english?

hi,

every time that i open a new tab, the google search bar when used searches in Spanish and not the defult English.

this problem also occurs when signing into google, it asks in spanish and only change to english after signing in.

any help would be great:-)

Sounds like a question for Google+ support.

My guess is that your IP address is located in a primarily Spanish-speaking country and until you login to Google+ the assumption is that Spanish is the appropriate language for your connection.

not sure if this is it though as ip is in north europe, but nevertheless it is worth a shot.

everything was fine until my friend logged into his google account, and then all went the way of the dodo:-)

so heres hoping that google+ support can help,

Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
