All my downloads are failing.
All of my downloads are suddenly failing. I used Safari and the files I needed did download. I have tried all the suggestions under the "Download Failure" questions and it does not work. I attempted to do this
Filter the list by typing in the search bar at the top. Type in scanWhenDone. You should now find the browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone preference.
But I was unable to find that preference when I searched. Any other suggestions?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode;
Type about:preferences<Enter> in the address bar
Select Advanced > General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.
Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?
Then restart.
It is still not working. I have tried deleting and reinstalling FireFox. I've done all the steps listed on this forum and all to no avail. Any other suggestions?
Did you try while in safe mode?

Do you have any (anti-virus) security software that might be preventing the downloads?
You can also try a different download location.
Try to repair the disk permissions:
I'm also having this problem. It's pretty neatly summarized in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/975724 (the files do in fact download, it's just not renaming them to the final filename). I've tried all of the things listed here and at the above link and it still doesn't work. I'm on a multi-user Mac, and only one user is having this problem (even with a freshly-created Firefox profile).
