Hi, it might just be a glitch, so try closing and restarting Firefox.

You can also open a link in a new tab by holding down Ctrl while you click. Or click the mouse wheel.

What do you mean with A bunch of new options pop up"?

Can you open a new tab by clicking the plus button on the Tab bar?

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test.
