I'm using FF on Android 4.4.2 and I just updated to 35.0.1 today but incident happened with version 34.

My issue: 48 hours ago I finished browsing, closed phone for 1 hour (not shut down). Turned phone back on and FF had restarted itself as evidenced by stats on app running time and ALL my tabs were gone despite having the restore option ticked in settings. It has always restored before when actually closing or updating FF and this was important research that I'd like to get back if possible.

Crash report: https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/bp-d103675c-4054-4e76-bc47-efad32150216

Is there no other session restore function in Android version besides the tab restore that didn't work?

Can I increase the number of history entries or top sites to try and recover tabs?

I happened between not closing Firefox after an hour and turning the phone back on? If the phone restarted the tabs would not restore. However the crash is one that crashed when drawing using the Android library to draw a webpage in Firefox.

Please update to version 36 from the Google Play store to make sure this is also not happening in an updated version of Firefox.

Thanks for your reply. No the phone did not restart, nor was it powered down. Just off/on and only FF had restarted. That said, phone has restarted before after updates and FF has crashed on sites but tabs have always restored. So from what you said about the crash report it was a problem with the last website I was on. Doesn't explain why the tab restore didn't work though.

Any backup file I can access for restore? Or is the fact that it didn't restore proof it is corrupted.

Or can I increase the number of history entries to go back and find tabs?

I do not know if you can do this on Firefox for Android. Accessing the site might crash the page again, but finding the list of tabs is possible.

"finding the list of tabs is possible."

Are you going to tell me how?
