I've recently upgraded to Kaspersky 2015 for online protection. This system now has a protected browser mode. Since this upgrade whenever I've made an online payment Kaspersky takes me to a 'protected browser' and my bank system seems to start but then returns to a blank screen and the payment fails. On one recent purchase the bank website stated that it couldn't obtain any details and then went blank. Phone conversations with the bank suggest that there are issues with Firefox and suggest that I use (dare I say it) IE (spit, spit spit). In order to make online payments I've had to go outside of the protected system. Is there any useful suggestions out there?

Hello,

To find the correct solution to your problem, we need some more non-personal information from you. Please do the following:

  1. Use ONE of these methods to open the Firefox Troubleshooting Information page:
    • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click on help Help-29 and select Troubleshooting Information.
    • Type about:support into the Firefox address bar and press the enter key.
  2. At the top of the Troubleshooting Information page that comes up, you should see a button that says "Copy text to clipboard". Click it.
  3. Now, go back to your forum post, right-click in the reply box and select Paste from the context menu (or else click inside the reply box and press the Ctrl+V keys) to paste all the information you copied into the forum post.

If you need further information about the Troubleshooting information page, please read the article Use the Troubleshooting Information page to help fix Firefox issues.

Thanks in advance for your help!

That would be a question for Kaspersky support, especially if this is a new problem since you updated to Kaspersky 2015 and it has new features.

Although, your bank might have something there - but my question to your bank would be "what do they tell their customers with MacOSX, Linux, or Android operating systems and don't have the option to use IE"? A better would have been "sorry, our IT dept is sophisticated enough to support anything except for IE - they all have MCP (Microsoft Certified Program) certificates" (a supposed measure of their knowledge and proficiency to land the job in the first place) - like having the fox guard the hen house or in-the-box straight line thinking. Or three ways of doing things - "the right way, the wrong way, or the Navy way" - yeah, served 6 years - in the USN Reserves during the Viet Nam Conflict.
