how do I prevent files being converted from .pdf to firefox html?

When converting a word document to .pdf on my laptop, it will not save in .pdf format but will convert it to Firefox .html. 

I need this to stop as I then need to combine it with other documents on my desktop.

If you want to convert a .doc file to .pdf you should download the Foxit reader.

After download the Foxit reader just right click on the .doc file and choose convert to pdf in Foxit reader.
