Thank you.

How old was the older Firefox? Firefox 33 and later use this pair of files:

  • logins.json - Saved passwords.
  • key3.db - This file stores your key database for your passwords.

If you wanted to drop the older ones into your current profile (to replace the mostly empty new files), here's the quickest way to open your currently active profile folder. Either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Troubleshooting Information
  • (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
  • type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table on the page, click the "Show Folder" button. This should launch a new window listing various files and folders in Windows Explorer.

Leaving that window open, switch back to Firefox and Exit, either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "power" button
  • (menu bar) File > Exit

Pause while Firefox finishes its cleanup, then rename logins.json to something like logins.old, and key3.db to something like key3.old.

Now copy the two old files to this folder.

Start Firefox back up again. Are those logins available?
