Upgraded from 41.0.2 to 42.0 and nothing was happening. Checked Task Manager and watched firefox.exe climb to nearly 4GB of RAM, finally give a crash message, then never open. Won't open in safe mode either. Uninstalled, reinstalled, same result. Roll back to 41.0.2 and all is well. Any logs I can submit to help out?

I checked on two different computers where this happens and there is nothing in \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports apart from a 10 byte file InstallTime20151029151421.

42.0 will not start in any way on two different computers. I'm stuck at 41.0.2. This is the short list of add-ons I have installed on both machines.

I was finally able to get it to work on one computer. I had to uninstall 41.0.2 then install 42.0. Upon opening 42 went to 3.5GB of memory in use and 100% CPU use on one core, but finally opened. Firefox was not very responsive for a bit, but finally settled down. The memory with 9 tabs opened settled at ~300mb.

That's good to hear. Keep us posted.

Does not work on the other machine. It has submitted a lot of crash reports.

Did you do a clean (re)install and deleted the Firefox program folder?

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) to see if that helps.
