the version of firefox on this used computer is in russian. uninstall and reinstall did not resolve this. change language settings did not resolve.
We bought a used HP computer. The version of Firefox on the computer looked like it was in Russian. I tried to change the default language to English, which was difficult because all the settings were in russian. I finally uninstalled that version and downloaded a new copy. It is in English and web sites are in English, but part of the bookmarks sidebar is still in Russian. The main headings are in English but the subentries are in Russian and I can't delete them. When I hover over buttons, such as the post question but on this page, it displays in Russian.

Anytime you purchase a used computer, you should IMMEDIALY wipe the computer and re-install windows. The previous owner may have malware, or worse, have installed a program to spy on you while you use the computer. Immediately use the ability in Windows 10 to re-install windows, selecting the proper language. After that, go to www.getfirefox.com and download firefox in the language you desire.
Create a new profile to test if your current profile is causing the problem.
See "Creating a profile":
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.
In the Bookmarks Manager, it might be those entries were created while the browser was using Russian. Try using the bookmark, remove the old, then create new bookmarks.
