I just set up a new computer, and was able to transfer my Firefox bookmarks but not my clippings. So I started the process of manually rebuilding my clippings library, but received an error saying:

Access to file is denied: clipdat2.rdf

I'm unable to add any new clippings, and none of the old ones are there.

I've tried searching for this issue, but have been unable to find any reference to it.

Can anyone help me with this?

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.

Hi there,

Thanks for the post! I do not have Advanced SystemCare (according to the search I perform in Windows).
