Missing Emails after Manual transfer from POP to IMAP (Gmail) Folders

Hey folks, I'm in the middle of migrating several different POP email accounts which I've been using on Thunderbird for over 10 years, to IMAP with Gmail and am having a puzzling issue...

There's a few different accounts involved here, both POP and GMAIL, but to take one as an example, I've had it set up on Thunderbird via POP for years and have a folder structure under the account. I've replicated this structure with labels on Gmail and have added this account to Thunderbird too and the plan was to just drag and drop from one folder to another, although I've chosen to select the mails and then select "copy to" instead, so I have the original pop account as it was. After finding no reliable way to transfer thousands of messages at once due to server time outs and no tool to monitor the transfer and offer to "retry" etc, I've settled on having to do it manually, a few hundred or thousand at a time. It's a pain in the ass, but any other way I've read about sounds equally as daunting and time consuming and I fear it may not hold the status of the mail and the conversation structure and other things such as notes I've added with the likes of the Xnotes addon.

Anyway, I've tried make progress on this and I do get several time outs, so then I just need to check where the transfer stopped by the last mail.

There's one big problem though and when I select from one mail in 2007 to another mail in 2011, there were about 6,400 mails between the two, but then in the folder I put them into in Gmail, when I check the amount of mails between the same two emails, there's only about 6,100 and I haven't a clue where these 300 are going.

I ran a test copy/transfer, selected 282 mails from one folder and "copy to" the IMAP/GMAIL folder, but when I check the folder after the trasnsfer completes, it only shows 214?

I'd really appreciate any help with this!

Thanks for the reply. Although this is definitely related, it's a separate issue altogether and is not an issue of time outs and transferring large amounts of emails, but it even happened when I transferred only the 282 emails over and only 214 showed up, which only took a few minutes to complete.

I just haven't a clue where these emails might be or why some may have been deleted :(

Hey again folks, would anyone have any idea what might be happening here and why emails I move from pop3 into an imap folder (gmail label) aren't all showing up?
