address book "add new contact" does not close when clicking on 'OK'
This happens now after updating to ver. 52.1.0. When I try to add a new contact, I click on the "OK" and the editing window does not close. I have to click on "cancel" instead. Further, the entry IS added to the address book! After multiple "OKs" trying to get the window to close, I had multiple new entries (same contact) in the address book!
How to fix? Or workaround?
Thx.

Try uninstalling Thunderbird, rebooting the computer, then Download & install the latest version of Thunderbird again.
When you uninstall Thunderbird, it will not delete your Thunderbird Profile, and when installing Thunderbird again, it will detect your Thunderbird Profile and use it automatically.
Despite this, in the vein of "better safe than sorry", I recommend that you backup the Profile folder. In fact, you should do this regularly in any case. Backup the entire computer regularly.
If uninstalling and reinstalling Thunderbird doesn't help, then try creating e a new profile. If the new profile works better, then import your stuff from the old profile to the new profile.
Where do i find the Profile? I have the same problem and want to try this suggested fix. Bruce has helped me before.

Do you have MoreFunctionsForAddressBook installed? It's a bug with the current version and TB 52.
I do, and I also have TB 54.0b3, and the problem is still there.
Yes, it also happens in all versions of TB 54, but as you note, the contacts is added when you click OK, and the window can be closed by clicking the X in the upper right corner.
I didn't notice that the Contact I added was added every time I tried ti click on OK. Do you suggest disabling the addon?

You can disable it if you don't need the other features, but find the add bug annoying; it will probably be fixed in the near future. Or, keep it installed and use the workaround mentioned above.
Thanks for the help and prompt response. You guys are super.
