What additional info do you need? "Google istant" is when you type something on google.com and it instantly research that something. No, it doesn't work.

For Mac you would at least need the Mac version, but I think that you already have the latest Firefox version. See Firefox -> About Firefox

You'd have to use GNU/Linux or maybe a compatibility layer like Wine. That was just a reference for the devs if they happen to see this thread.
