Is there any way to install my own addon/extension without submitting on AMO?
I've been making quite a few Firefox/Thunderbird add-ons (Web_App) with XUL/DOM for many years. All of them are solely and always used by myself and I constantly modify them according to my specific needs. I've been very happy with the efficiency improvement they have brought to me. Now, after this new version of FF, I have to switch to WebExtension frame for good. I could live with this. However, the thing is, it seems all my personal Add-ons can not be installed unless verified on AMO. What if failed to get verified? What about each time of a minor modification? I feel this annoying. Is it possible to get a special permission to install my own FF at my own risks? Before, I could work around through "about:config". I heard there is a special version of FF but that won't last long. Or, is there a way to keep the "debugging mode" alive after restart?
BTW, I'm on Ubuntu 14.04LTS and it's my first day of knowing this "WebExtension" thing.

You should ask your question here; https://discourse.mozilla-community.org/c/add-ons
According to wiki, you should be able to install unsigned extensions, but only on Nightly/DevEdition.
