Since the Win 10 update to Ver1709 I have been having nothing but problems with Firefox, now I found that trying to take a screen shot I get a message "can't take screen shots in private mode", but Firefox is not in Private mode. This could also explain why it is blocking some secure websites.

Hi, could you please check the following?

1. Type "about:config" in the address bar. 2. Click the "I accept the risk" button. 3. In the search box that appears, type "browser.privatebrowsing.autostart".

What appears in the "value" column? If it says "true", double-click on the item to change it to "false", and restart Firefox.

Many Thanks, it wasn't that complicated, when I restored Firefox I must have ticked the "never remember history" box and thus stuck it in Private mode. all is sorted now and back to where we were before .................... until the next Win 10 update.
