I have old Juno data & FF56 had an extension (.jbk) to open it. As of FF57 it looks like it's no longer available. How can I safely open it?

Hi LoiS-sez, did you used to have this add-on? Because, if not, this whole quest may be based on misinformation. It just doesn't make any sense for there to be a Firefox add-on to read an email program backup.

If you can get your hands on the Juno email client software and the Juno Backup Wizard, then you can restore your backup file to the Juno software:

Addons/Extension are the property of the creators to update or repair.

So how, if at all, can I contact the creators who made this?

Hi, I can not even find it in old add-ons/plugins. It is email backup if got it right.

If you have the proper name of the thing it would help as am blindly going nowhere and getting sites I would not trust to download anything from but they do give info on what .jbk opens with, Firefox.

If you can still find the plugin/extension then can backup your profile for this one and uninstall and put 56 in and do your business and then dump it.

Find the add-on though

Unfortunately Mozilla Firefox 56 Overview is as good as I see that might be safe. I don't know what I dare do, because, like you, I don't trust just any download.

Suggestions?

Oh, if want Firefox 56 please go here and then will need to pick Win32 or Win64 https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/56.0.2/

Install on a different h/Drive or Partition using Custom Install. Please backup your stuff as settings are not backwards compatible.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Thanks, jscher! I have a friend still using Juno, but I left it ages ago. Had no idea this Backup Wizard even existed. It looks much simpler than trying to have an earlier version of Ff and keep it partitioned away from the current version. This may take me a while to try your suggestion, but it looks both safe and reasonable. I hate downloading programs unless I know the source is reputable. Juno is, just a bit old fashioned.
