Since the "legacy add-ons" have been deprecated, there are two UI//UX add-ons I've not been able to find equivalent replacements for. They are Noitidart's Throbber Restored and Matthew Turnbull's Status-4-Evar

I use them together to have a UI closer to Netscape 4, with a throbber animation depicting if the page is still loading with the N animation and a status bar on the bottom, with add-on icons in it. I would also like to be able to have control icons and address bar on separate bars, but not as important as getting the add-on icons to the bottom of the window.

The customize has a lot of flexibility, it's frustrating that this lacks the customization to do this. I don't see a reason for this to be missing, it's an obvious feature to be able to add a toolbar capable of holding any element on any edge of the browser window.

Attached is how I use these add-ons in the last browser to seem to support them, 52.9.0esr.

Addon support is with the developer to update to work with latest version of firefox. You should contact them about this. Firefox is a End User forum help for default firefox installs. You can look at the addon site on firefox to find addons that are up to date to do what your asking for.

Hi sidusnare, I don't think the Add-on bar is coming back. It was hidden in Firefox 29, and the structure is no longer present in the browser to unhide.

Regarding a throbber at the right end of the toolbar or tab bar, it's a challenge. Two thoughts:

(A) Maybe an extension button could work? Extensions can monitor whether a tab is loading or has finished loading and could change the button accordingly. It wouldn't be nearly as large, though.

(B) If an extension can't do it, you could consider overriding the "X" (stop) button with a more interesting-looking throbber, or maybe there's another control you could repurpose somehow. The OP is looking for suggestions on Extensions or userChrome.css or such help on how to do the features that these extensions provided. Telling them to go to AMO is not much help as I imagine the author has done that already based on the "I've not been able to find equivalent replacements for".

Firefox is a web browser and not a company or a end user help or such. This section of support.mozilla.org Questions is for people to get help on a variety of things related to the desktop Firefox from www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ including posts like the OP made.
