Firefox needs to go back to separating cookies from site data

In past versions, if I wanted to delete a cookie, I could open that area of settings and do it quickly. Now, since cookies are combined with site data, I have to wait for the calculation of stored data to complete before I can click on Manage and edit my cookies. That can take five minutes (or longer). I don't mind waiting a little, like for clearing the cache (although on old versions, that calculation could take 15 minutes), but it makes no sense to have to wait at all just to clean out some cookies. Those should be readily available like they used to be. Please take cookies out of site data like they used to be.

Hi,

The people who answer questions here, for the most part, are other Firefox users volunteering their time (like me), not Mozilla employees or Firefox developers.

If you want to leave feedback for Firefox developers, you can go to the Firefox Help menu and select Submit Feedback... or use this link. Your feedback gets collected by a team of people who read it and gather data about the most common issues.

How many cookies do you have (keep) that it takes that long? Maybe cleanup the cookies and start with fresh cookies, select them all and toggle off domains that you recognize and want to keep (you can possibly order by last used; click the header).

Thank you Wesley. I was looking for a feedback link, but couldn't find it any longer. I submitted my feedback there.

Cor-el, it isn't that I choose to keep a lot of cookies. Practically every website you visit adds several cookies now. Most people do not normally even know it is happening, let alone where they can go to remove some or all.

It is now a major chore to sort through them for the few that I would want to keep, so instead I only delete specific ones as needed. A better design would allow you to designate/star which ones to keep and then be able to batch-delete the rest.

Thanks to you both.
