Firefox by default would show the progress of downloads in each taskbar button. Something happened at some point that I can't determine (no change in add-ons or settings) and now the download progress does not show.

I'd like to get this functionality back. Can anyone advise?

Thanks, B

I probably use the default setting for Taskbar buttons: all Firefox windows are combined into a large square icon. (In the Taskbar settings, "Combine taskbar buttons: Always, hide labels".)

On mine, download progress shows as green shading on that icon.

Is your Taskbar set to show separate buttons/tiles for each Firefox window?

I always show all and never hide my taskbar buttons. That green shading is what has disappeared, and I want it back.

My issue is not a windows setting to my knowledge, but I can't say 100%. Again, I changed no settings (to my knowledge) and neither added nor removed any addons.

This behavior had been consistent for years, and then just suddenly disappeared, and I can't figure out why, which is why I'm asking for help here.
