The last updated changed the background color in Win 10 Thunderbird v77.0b2 to ALWAYS be black. The HTML style "background color" setting in options is now disregarded by the program and the color is always black when reading a message. However, when composing a new message, the background is the "background color" that has been chosen in HTML style. No, i did NOT install any themes. I have also tried installing themes to get rid of the black color and they do not work, either. This is broken

The background is white here. Check the W10 Settings, Personalization, Colors, so that the default app mode is Light.

I checked all of those. the option to change the background color when reading a message in Thunderbird v77.0b2 is broken and is now ALWAYS black (unless the email is in HTML and the sender specified a background color). Mozilla broke it a couple of updates back

If it's broken, why do I not see the same issue? Maybe you have to change something in Options/General/Language & Appearance, Colors...
