verizon.net email will not send or receive
I have a verizon.net email address that stopped sending or receiving emails after changing that email's password at aol.com. I know the server settings are correct, and, after entering the new password in Thunderbird, the error message received is either "no server" or "enter new password". I have three other verizon.net email addresses that are working fine, however, their passwords were NOT changed.

Per the same troubled email address...I can access it on the AOL.com website...send or receive.
When you change a password, remove the old ones in Options/Privacy & Security/Passwords/Saved Passwords, restart TB, enter the new password when prompted. With AOL accounts, you should change the incoming and outgoing authentication to OAuth2, then on restart enter the new account password in the OAuth browser window (allow cookies in TB Options/Privacy & Security).
I solved this problem using AOL's security page on their website located at... https://help.aol.com/articles/Create-and-manage-app-password
These are their instructions...in case anyone else is having the same problem:
Some older third-party email apps (that do not use our AOL-branded sign in page) require you to enter a single password for login credentials. If you've activated 2-step verification for your AOL account, you'll need to generate and use an "app password" to access AOL Mail from these apps.
1. Sign in and go to the AOL Account security page. 2. Click Generate app password or Manage app passwords. 3. Select your app from the drop down menu and click Generate. 4. Follow the instructions below the password. - Be sure to enter the password into your app without any spaces. 5. Click Done. 6. Use this app password and your email address to sign in to your email app.
Happy to say I fixed this problem. Only took me three days. Went to this page at aol.com https://help.aol.com/articles/Create-and-manage-app-password
Followed these instructions to have AOL generate a password that worked:
