Need Help In Editing profiles.ini to have 2 computers use same profile folder
I am running Thunderbird on 2 networked Home Win 10 computers. (Laptop & Desktop) I am trying to have both computers have the same accounts, folders & messages in their DROPBOX folder. Laptop working fine but I think I have messed up message Local Folders & Server Settings vs profiles.ini.
Any help in the proper syntax for profiles.ini changes are much appreciated!!!
Under Thunderbird there are two profiles; ewtl5b3r MyMail
Profiles.ini (NOW)
[Install8216C80C92C4E828]
Default=Profiles/ewtl5b3r.default
[Profile0] Name=default IsRelative=1 Path=Profiles/ewtl5b3r.default Default=1
[General] StartWithLastProfile=1 Version=2
Server Settings (all individual accounts same) = C:\Users\me\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\MyMail\Mail\pop.windstream-2.net ( It appears that ‘Server Settings’ are being ignored and mail account settings are coming from the ewtl5b3r profile.)
Local Folders Local Directory = C:\Users\me\Dropbox\Thunderbird\Profiles\MyMail\Mail\Local Folders ( I’m pretty sure messages are being stored in this path.)
Help appreciated!!!!

I will not help you beyond suggesting unless you want to loose your mail and other data abandon the idea now. It will not work long term even if you get it to play for a while. Use of cloud storage or any other form of synchronization (streaming backups) is not only not supported it is almost guaranteed to result on all sorts of random error, failure to save settings and loss of information. I saw one guy here with 9 copies of his inbox all around a gigabyte in size from trying this. none of them quite complete. Every fetch of mail was creating a new copy.
If you must have a shared copy, use the portable apps process as it works. https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/thunderbird_portable
