HP970cxi started printing double or more width characters in Firefox, how can I fix it?
Hi, I've an old printer, a HP 970Cxi which I think is similar to a HP 970cse. I've used firefox for a long time with this printer with no problem, but recently it started printing double width or more characters rendering the printouts useless. If a document is in PDF form, I have to save it and then print it out from a separate PDF viewer. If printing a web page or a receipt, I have to use another browser or try and copy the page to MSWord for printing. I'm guessing this might be a problem caused by an update, but if not, what setting is causing this? The paper is set to A4 and all settings I can see look fine. Thanks

Users with some printers are reporting scaling problems with the new integrated preview / setup / print design. For now you might need to use the "system dialog" link at the lower right or revert Firefox to the old design until the developers have suggestions to test for your HP printer.
You've probably noticed the system dialog link -- if you expanded More settings, you'll need to scroll for it:
There is a temporary preference to switch back to the classic design of separate preview / setup / print if you can't make the new one work for you:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.
(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste tab_mo and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the print.tab_modal.enabled preference to switch between the new experience (true) and the classic experience (false)
(4) If there is another preference named app.normandy.startupRolloutPrefs.print.tab_modal.enabled you can double-click that one to switch it to false as well. If you do not have that one, no need to create it.
Since you are setting to false, it will look roughly like this:
