When I try to add a new search engine to Firefox Focus (Android), I put in the name and the url and save, but it never shows up in the list of search engines to select. But if I try again and use the same name, it'll tell me it already exists. And, if I try to delete any of the default search engines, I select it and hit the trashcan icon, but when I return to the list, nothing is deleted. Any help is appreciated!

Which search engine are you trying to add?

When you add the search string, it needs to match exactly what occurs when you use that engine's website to search.

I tried adding bing, and it worked. For example, I added the following:

Search engine name: bing.com

Search string to use: bing.com/search?q=%s

When I went to bing.com, I just typed in "test" to see how the search string would appear. After I hit search, the URL bar showed "bing.com/search?q=" and the rest of the URL, but the rest isn't needed.

Firefox Focus needs the %s right after what you find in the URL after you search. You can try adding bing.com using the example above, and then try on whichever search engine you want to add. Let me know if that doesn't work, or needs clarification.
